Diecutting
is an easy process that adds interest to any piece! It is
appropriate for brochure and proposal covers, and folders.
Diecutting takes a little imagination, but is most commonly seen as
a square window. Diecuts can be simple or
elaborate.
Diecutting is a process in which a portion of the
paper is cut out to reveal what is beneath it. There are two
processes that can be used in diecutting. The process is determined
by the difficulty of the diecut. For most diecuts, traditional
methods are used. However, when diecutting a complex visual, a laser
diecut is used.
Traditionally, a diecut is achieved using a metal
die that is pressed into the paper with a wooden die on the other
side, cutting away a portion of the paper, leaving the diecut. Ask
your SBS representative about a custom diecut for your project.
